Successful evening event delivers on great taste
February 21, 2008 – Lifford Wines hosted the spectacular Women and Wine event at Easy and the Fifth Social Club in Toronto earlier this year. The evening, which was much anticipated for its great food and wine, included a silent auction and raffle and raised over $12,000 to support lupus research at Toronto Western Hospital. In addition to the exclusive vintages and exquisite gourmet dishes, 125 guests enjoyed live jazz and mingled with high-profile wine and food personalities. Distinguished guests included Globe and Mail columnist Lucy Waverman, Food Network host Trish Magwood, and Stacey Metulynsky and Angie MacRae, bestselling authors of This Food That Wine.

Raising awareness for lupus in style
October 18, 2007 – Showcasing the year’s hottest fashion trends, 2007’s “Flare” for Fashion event made history. With an impressive turnout of 950 guests at the Mississauga Convention Centre, a gross amount of $170,000 was raised toward the fight against lupus – the highest attendance and largest amount ever donated in a single evening in the history of this event.
Hosted by the Lupus Flare Foundation and attracting the attention of both celebrities and Toronto’s elite, the annual gala increases awareness of the disorder and raises funds for the world-renowned University of Toronto Lupus Clinic at Toronto Western Hospital. This facility provides groundbreaking and world-leading research, care and support for lupus patients and their families.
